Bee Craft Timely Reminder – 27th September 2017

As the leaves all around change colour, many minds turn towards cutting out the dead growth from the summer and clearing out those plants that took over during the warm wet summer.

Please leave your ivy and balsam for a few weeks more though so that the bees can make the most of the late harvest that they need.

It’s likely to be another wet mild winter which will mean that bees will use up more stores than you may think, so the late ivy flowers are an essential food source for the honey bees and other insects.
