A course to help all beekeepers whatever their experience to assess their colonies with a view to improving them using criteria they set themselves.
The course also covers simple recording to give information on which queens to cull and which to breed from. There is encouragement to rear queens using natural methods as well as some of the simple “artificial” methods.

Roger Patterson is a practical beekeeper who has kept bees since 1963. At one stage he ran 130 colonies but now has reduced to around 25. Roger presents and demonstrates widely in the UK and overseas. Roger also owns and maintains Dave Cushman’s website which is widely recognised as the worlds most comprehensive beekeeping site. He is the author of “Beekeeping a practical guide”. He is Vice Chair of BIBBA and President of Bee Diseases Insurance (BDI).
