BeeCraft and the Central Association of Bee-Keepers Research Lectures 2021

In recent years BeeCraft has proudly sponsored lectures by young researchers at the National Honey Show (NHS). All that changed in 2020 with the onset of the pandemic and the first online NHS in October.

Together with the Central Association of Bee-Keepers we decided to host an online research lecture evening with talks from two PhD students. This event took place on Monday, February 15, 2021.

Ayla Paul from Reading University presented her research into the origin and authenticity of UK honey samples, giving insights into the various methods.

Hamish Symington from the University of Cambridge explored how pollination works and how his and others’ research aims to make flowers more efficient at being pollinated.
